The Kate Apothecary is proudly owned by David Thibodeaux and Steve Flores, whose shared vision is rooted in community, hospitality, and a deep love for Kingsville.

Born and raised in Kingsville, Steve returned home in 2023 after a distinguished career as a periodontist in Austin. Inspired by a desire to give back to the town that shaped him, Steve and his husband David transformed that commitment into The Kate Apothecary. The Kate Apothecary is a thoughtfully curated boutique offering elevated yet approachable luxury, featuring premium candles, lotions, home fragrances, and household goods designed to bring beauty, comfort, and a sense of everyday indulgence into the home.

Alongside the historic Kate Building, which houses The Kate Apothecary, and the iconic Salazar Building, David and Steve have helped create a vibrant community gathering place for Kingsville residents of all ages. Even more exciting ventures are on the horizon, including the upcoming Pintora Lounge opening upstairs in the Kate.
